How can I get my GDrive data into Distributary?

This doc will walk you through how to enable Distributary to build your balance sheet and single source of financial truth.

First, you may wonder why we need access to Gdrive? Private assets tend to be unregistered, and the terms which define economics and control are bespoke and most custodians don't offer services to interpret this information widely. To understand what you own, we've built simple models and analytic tools to translate private documents into a ledger, surfacing your rights and enabling you to include these private assets in your financial plans.

If you're like us, you've probably got a gdrive folder where you've stored all of your private transaction data like a piggy bank of lottery tickets. Thankfully there's now a better way.

You can choose to share either specific folders, or files with auto_advisor@distributary.io, and anything shared will be uploaded to your document store, analyzed for company, entity and transaction data then added to your portfolio. We may also have more questions for you if we cannot surface any useful data

  1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
  2. Right Click on the folder/file you want to share.
  3. Click the Share icon: Add approver
  4. Enter auto_advisor@distributary.io in the add people and groups dialogue
  5. To decide what role people will have with your folder, select Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.
  6. We should automatically review our access, but please notify us! Check the box next to "Notify people." If you notify people, but if you don't want to, we wont be hurt.
  7. Click Send.
